Book Nook: Retire Securely - Insights on Money Management from an Award-Winning Financial Columnist

We've all heard the message - early planning for retirement is the best bet. I had a chance to review the book Retire Securely, which is appropriate for anyone approaching retirement from any distance, whether it's entering into the job force, years out from retirement, or coming right up to it (although with information titled "financial literacy starts early" it obviously is better the earlier you are).

The book is easy to read, no matter what your current level of financial literacy. It covers a lot of topics - a brief financial history to provide context, 401(k)s and IRAs for working years and retirement, wise choices for investment and financial advisors, common financial scams, and estate planning and giving. I most appreciated the information on financial history, as that section contained the newest information for me, but it still is a great book and I learned tidbits of information in each section. Some of it confirmed what I'm already doing, and some if it inspired changes and adjustments to my financial plan.
